Noryangjin Fish Market - Seoul

Try buying your fresh fish at the market and take it to one of the many restaurants. They will prepare and serve your food for you, which is a very unique experience and often a bit cheaper than buying you entire meal at the restaurant. Best tip is to take a local who speaks Korean!

Overview

Noryangjin Fish Market is the largest fish market in Seoul and definitely worth a visit. Opened in 1927, this is Seoul's largest and oldest indoor fish and seafood market.

The market is open 24 hours a day all year round and easy to access as it is connected to Noryangjin station. In the early hours of the morning, seafood auctions are held and fish is bought by restaurant owners to be used later that night in restaurants all across Seoul.

You can literally buy anything that lives in the sea or water, yes we mean anything, even things unimaginable fit to be eaten! Noryangjin Fish Market is located in a big warehouse with two floors. On the first floor you can find the auctions and seafood vendors selling all kinds of interesting seafood. On the second floor there are some seafood restaurants serving some very fresh or even live seafood.
