This is the first Irish pub opened in Seoul serving up perhaps the best pub food in the city. The menu and kitchen were setup by a former 5 star hotel executive chef and food reviewers seem to agree that all the little things they do right at The Wolfhound make all the difference.
Back in 2006 they hired the ex executive chef Mark Sumpter from the Intercontinental hotel to set up their menu and train the kitchen staff. This ensured that perfectly grilled steaks, award winning burgers, top selling fish & chips, succulent Irish sausages and made from scratch sides and dressings became the standard. All of their food is created from scratch with only the highest quality-freshest ingredients. For example, they use a higher quality beef for their burgers, not just the cheapest beef available. They also use fresh local chicken breast for sandwiches and salads and not mass produce frozen chicken. And they use real potatoes to make their mash, not instant mix.
"We know all these things cost a bit more but we (as well as many food reviewers) believe that customers can taste the difference." Says co-owner and manager Ciaran Doherty.
But they aren't just about the food. Their parties and weekend nights have become legendary. Join them any Friday or Saturday night later in the evening when their house DJ keeps the atmosphere upbeat and people tapping their toes and dancing by playing a wide selection of oldies, rock n roll and the latest top 40 hits.
Great place for an early drink and an Irish fry up as it opens at 11am on Saturdays and Sundays. Try the Whole Shebang Breakfast; 3 eggs, 3 sausages,3 slices of bacon, extra beans, fried tomato, hash browns and toast.
