Seoul is famous for its many markets. Some markets take up entire neighborhoods such as Dongdaemun and others have been around for thousands of years, such as Namdaemun in downtown Seoul and if you like food markets Seoul has plenty of that as well.

Visiting a traditional market, clothing or antique market, is always an exciting experience, no matter where it is and what goods and produce are on display. The scents and sights, the people and the noise etc. In Seoul you can find all kinds of markets selling everything from live octupus, pig's feet and second-hand 'tat' to vintage Chanel. Nearly every single market in Seoul also have many food stalls, serving up some of the freshest seafood or delicious street food classics. Combine your shopping at department stores and trendy shopping streets with a visit to a traditional market, a fish market or maybe even a clothes and accessory market. There is something for all tastes and wallet sizes in Seoul.
